The Nicorette® Patch was developed to provide a simple and discreet method of
delivering a controlled dose of nicotine and is available in three strengths
(15mg, 10mg & 5mg). People should start on the 15mg patch and then gradually
reduce their intake of nicotine by following the step-down reduction programme.
Treatment
should begin with Nicorette® Patch 15 mg (30 cm 2 ), administered as
one patch applied to the skin upon waking and removed at bedtime (approximately
16 hours). The used patch should be disposed of carefully. The duration of
treatment depends on the individual, but should generally continue for 3 months.
After the full-dose treatment period, the subject should change |
